School starts next week and I can not wait, no more kids hanging around all day doing nothing and I will have my couch back to use as I see fit. Since I work nights the couch is where a lot of my day light hours are spent. The couch has been occupied with kids since the start of June and I am ready to reclaim my couch. I can start to work in my daily morning nap as well as my traditional afternoon nap which I have been missing for months now. Thank goodness for school.

Every summer it seems that I get the blues around the end of July and it lasts until it begins to cool off in September. I know it is natural to get the blues when it is hot and humid but it is really a strain to me to be sad, I am a very happy person and this really takes it out of me. I guess I need a vacation to a cool spot but then who would water my plants and feed my dogs. I guess I am stuck here being cranky until it cools off in a couple of months.

Hurricane Dolly is about to come on shore in south Texas, the reports I am hearing say the biggest threat is not from the wind but from the rain. They have been saying that if they get the amount of rain they are expecting in south Texas the levies that protect them from the Rio Grande river will not hold and there will be major flooding. The levee systems we have in place here in America are old and do not work. It seems like the government needs to get another system in place to protect us from flooding rivers.

Everything in life boils down to the simple things, I think most of us are very happy with simple things. The simple things that life offers to us free are sometimes the very best. A great sunrise, a cloudy day, a full moon on a clear night. The very best thing I can think of it to have great dogs and a woman who loves you, I have these and they make me very happy. Money and fame would be nice but I will take my simple life and just be happy, poor but happy.
