It sure looks like the price of gasoline is starting to drop again. I hope it levels off before the July 4th weekend, I am planning on a short trip that weekend since I have 2 days off. I do not want to have to cancel our plans due to high gasoline prices this year. Last year we put all travel on hold due to the high price of gasoline and everything else for that matter. In one way the high price of gasoline helps because it keeps some people off the roads and makes the trip easier in that way but that does not offset the cost due to the rising price of gasoline.
Man was it ever hot today, as well as yesterday. Today it hit 98 and that is hot for here in Nashville. Add ion the humidity and you have a mess, when I got home from work I was soaking wet and had to get right in the shower to wash off all of the sweat. I like it much better when it is cool and cloudy not like today with no clouds and the sun bearing right down on top of you. I will be glad when fall gets here it will not be a moment to soon.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have come back and forced a game seven in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs with the Detroit Red Wings. Just a few days ago it sure looked like The Red Wings would win the finals in a laugher but I have to hand it to the Penguins who have regrouped and look to win the Stanley Cup this year after losing to the Red Wings in last years finals. Last year the Red Wings won in six games and this year the Penguins have forced a game seven. As a Nashville Predators fan I am cheering for the Penguins which falls into my anyone but the Red Wings plan.
Now that I do not have to work nights any more I have been trying to catch up on some sleep. It is not as easy as it sounds, between my new job and five dogs I am still not getting very much sleep, at least not as much as I think I need. I will try very hard this weekend to stay busy this will be the first weekend I have had off in over three years, I will not know what to do with myself. It has been driving me crazy trying to think of something to do with myself. I know the lake is right there and I think that is where we will wind up, but I am not sure yet.
Yesterday was a blessing, I had almost one whole day off with just as little work as I could do to get by, and it was wonderful. I have not had a day with nothing pressing me for a long time and I really enjoyed it a lot. I look forward to more days like that in the very near future. Our contract is up in a week with the newspaper and I am going to relax for a while before I undertake a huge task like that again.
